Mounted on a Micro Four Thirds body, the 75-300mm range translates to 150-600mm in 35mm terms, giving birders, wildlife watchers and sideline sports shooters serious reach without a tripod-sized lens or a heavy backpack. It is one of the lightest ways to reach these focal lengths on any interchangeable-lens system.

Image quality is handled by an 18-element, 13-group optical design that includes two ED elements, one Super ED element and three HR elements to suppress chromatic aberration at long focal lengths. A 7-blade circular aperture keeps backgrounds smooth, helping distant subjects stand out cleanly. The 16 to 4.1 degree angle of view lets you frame a whole flock or zero in on a single bird across a field.

Focusing uses MSC high-speed autofocus with an inner-focus screw drive, so the lens does not change length when focusing and stays quiet for video. It focuses as close as 0.9 m at the 75mm end and accepts 58mm filters, and at 116.5 mm long it packs easily for travel, safaris and airshows.
